Thunder Bay is behind us. The lovely Katie put us up and put up with us for two days. She even got us onto a bill at a sweet venue in Thunder Bay called Apollo. Sheila, the owner was super nice. Her mother, Tina, even made us dinner, which was fantastic. It was nice to have a sound guy again as well. Upstairs is basically a hostel - we wandered around in the dark from room to room, but eventually decided to sleep in Thor.
We awoke in Thor outside the venue at the ungodly hour of 8am. Brandon, Manitoba being our next destination, Emeri jumped behind the wheel and drove for a few hours. A pit stop in Kenora, found us once again cooking Sidekicks outside the bus. We ate at a picnic table, on a beach. There were crab legs, cleaned of flesh, littered about. The gulls there eat in style.
This last week we've been driving through Northern Ontario - very beautiful scenery, but after a while a little claustrophobic. I awoke from a semi restful sleep - it's impossible to sleep in this fucking bus while it's moving - and looked out my window (which is the rear window of the bus). The prairies had begun.
Our next show is in Saskatoon. Awesome tour routing eh? Marathon - Saskatoon. Wicked.
Anyways, we're cooped up in the bus, hijacking wifi and figuring out what we're gonna eat next.
I can't think. Open space is nice. Emeri has declared ketchup doritos and licorice for dinner. Yum?
*lost connection - time passes*
It is now the morning. We are parked outside Gunn Transmission and Auto in Brandon. Thor has a broken coolant hose and the speedosensor has come loose once again. This is the third auto place we have visited in Brandon. The first place was not able to help us. At the second place the douche behind the counter was more interested in his granola bar than helping us. Prick asshole. This place however, seems to have a friendly staff, willing to help. Our show in Saskatoon tonight is likely to be canceled as we cannot safely make it there in time. Nature of the beast I suppose.
I've been trying to post some pictures, but they'll have to wait until a stronger connection can be found.
Keep your fingers crossed for us.
