Emeri and I get our video game fix.

Paul gets wifi through the window.

A bathroom! Showers! Holy shit!

sorry Bambi

Here are those pictures I was referring to earlier. Long drive from Brandon to Saskatoon tackled by yours truly. Diesel fumes are good for brain cells?

I ran over a dead deer. There was a wheel shaped path cut right through it. There are guts all over Thor. Maybe now that he has had his first kill the mechanical problems will cease... wait, there is transmission fluid leaking into the cab... maybe not.

The government in Saskatoon provides free wifi in the downtown. IMAGINE THAT? FREE INFORMATION!

We missed our gig tonight. Tomorrow night we're opening for a punkish band called Social Code. Should be a good crowd.

Rob and I tried busking for a bit in Brandon today. It was well received. The local Green Party Candidate gave us $20. He also ranted to us on film. Neato?

Happy to hang around.

Flat Land, Friendly People, Leaking Bus

We had an interesting day. As Greg already mentioned, we did some busking while waiting for THOR's repairs (brought in a pretty penny too). Brandon is a really friendly place with really cool people, I really hope we get to stop there again on the way back. Paul and I did some pounding the pavement to find a gig for if THOR's diagnosis might have meant we would be stuck in Brandon for a few days. Along the way we bumped into fellow KW indies, Wil Curry and the Country French, who were constructing a dragonfly sheild for the front of their van. They are opening for 'Sloan' on a western tour. Lucky bastards.

THOR is fixed.... but naturally.. leaking again.

love it. spaghetti in a can

can-t wait

Tomorrow we open for Social Code, it should be good.

Brrrrrandon....

Thunder Bay is behind us. The lovely Katie put us up and put up with us for two days. She even got us onto a bill at a sweet venue in Thunder Bay called Apollo. Sheila, the owner was super nice. Her mother, Tina, even made us dinner, which was fantastic. It was nice to have a sound guy again as well. Upstairs is basically a hostel - we wandered around in the dark from room to room, but eventually decided to sleep in Thor.

We awoke in Thor outside the venue at the ungodly hour of 8am. Brandon, Manitoba being our next destination, Emeri jumped behind the wheel and drove for a few hours. A pit stop in Kenora, found us once again cooking Sidekicks outside the bus. We ate at a picnic table, on a beach. There were crab legs, cleaned of flesh, littered about. The gulls there eat in style.

This last week we've been driving through Northern Ontario - very beautiful scenery, but after a while a little claustrophobic. I awoke from a semi restful sleep - it's impossible to sleep in this fucking bus while it's moving - and looked out my window (which is the rear window of the bus). The prairies had begun.

Our next show is in Saskatoon. Awesome tour routing eh? Marathon - Saskatoon. Wicked.

Anyways, we're cooped up in the bus, hijacking wifi and figuring out what we're gonna eat next.

I can't think. Open space is nice. Emeri has declared ketchup doritos and licorice for dinner. Yum?

*lost connection - time passes*

It is now the morning. We are parked outside Gunn Transmission and Auto in Brandon. Thor has a broken coolant hose and the speedosensor has come loose once again. This is the third auto place we have visited in Brandon. The first place was not able to help us. At the second place the douche behind the counter was more interested in his granola bar than helping us. Prick asshole. This place however, seems to have a friendly staff, willing to help. Our show in Saskatoon tonight is likely to be canceled as we cannot safely make it there in time. Nature of the beast I suppose.

I've been trying to post some pictures, but they'll have to wait until a stronger connection can be found.

Keep your fingers crossed for us.

Sleeping Finnish Giant

Today we explored a bit of the T. Bay. Bus was getting tuned up.. so we checked out some Finnish breakfast and a music store that I am now wishing I would have taken pictures of. Also found some wicked 'Big Lebowski' action figures.. so wicked.. no pictures of that either. damn...

Hoitos

North North North...

This morning our battery was dead. A man named Jim saved us with his car and our jumper cables. Hot Mushroom soup and melon hand sanitizer are phantasmal. Onward Downward, and into the North North North...

Are we coming across clear?

We are currently thundering down highway 17 in Thor. Bumping, banging and slamming our way along. Emeri seems to have found his 'sea legs' though.

Last night we played in the pleasant little hamlet of Marathon. The venue was called: The Bar.

Apparently I have a little slice of family history there. My Grandpa went to Marathon during the goldrush in 1985 to make a few bucks but instead ended profiting more from a custom tshirt he manufactured scathing the mining corporation.

We ordered a pizza moments before we went onstage. It arrived at a break part for me in Tamer Than Anything. Needless to say, paying for pizza during a set is not something I've done before. A first for everything?

After our sets we headed back to Thor, where we struggled with Power Inverter issues, watched an episode of News Talk Radio, made some soup, and retired for the evening.

We are now on our way to Thunder Bay. Parked at a Gas Station with WIFI. Wireless internet is everywhere and we've had great luck with getting connected so far. Apparently there is a wifi blackout in Manitoba or something.

Wish us luck.
