rule #1: don't mix your politiks with your art.

this is the stuff that keeps me up at night.

Why Free-Market Capitalism Will Follow Communism Into the Trash-heap of History.

Part two and three are worth reading too.

Very interesting reading, but alas with many such articles I run across there is the obvious pointing out of problems and at times very nicely put, but always a lack of solutions.
Consumption is what drives our fragile economy and greed is the ugly cousin, lol. How to balance fairness , growth, a right to produce and consume with rationality and what will be the objective "ruler" to measure this by? How can it work in a global scale when in truth it is exactly such an complex and global problem. How to buy shoes for my children and make them affordable and still know that someone was paid pennies to make them and are possibly living a live of poor human rights?
We have woven a trapestry of epic proportions in its hunger to feed until engorged and then feed some more, heck it is front page news and us pawns talk like lemmings at the watering hole about how unfair it is for a billionae not to be able to buy his hobby hockey team???!!!! Are you kidding me? Tell that to five year old Pedro somewhere in Peru who lost his 13 year old brother in a copper mine accident so I could buy a cheap hardrive for my computer. I am right there with you Greg, it makes me weep.

I feel that way too, Matias. I hesitated to post the link because the article didn't offer much in terms of solutions.

There is some more reading I found pretty thought provoking here:

Thanks for responding.
